Community Centre Meeting

Come to our meeting after Boddlers on Monday 7th June to discuss Boddlers and the Community Centre. This centre is not being used and we need people to come forward with ideas about using the centre for other activities. Your ideas will be forwarded to the Community Advisor and hopefully we will see the changes soon. If you can’t make the meeting post your comments on this site or send us an email. We want all age groups to benefit from this centre.

Bad Lippspringe and Schlangen Community Centre!

We have a new Facebook page for Boddlers: Bad Lippspringe and Schlangen Community Centre.                                                   

 Currently Boddlers are the main users of this Community Centre but we are hoping to start a coffee morning in the near future.

A meeting is arranged for Thursday 19 August at 9.30 at the Community Centre with Pete Glen. This is an opportunity to ask Pete our questions regarding the Community Centre. If we can agree to a coffee morning, we would like to reorganise the centre so that it is more welcoming to new visitors. We have recently repainted the Boddlers room ourselves and are looking to buy new storage.

If you are new to the area, please call in, email or phone. We want as many people as possible to make use of this venue. If you have any suggestions regarding activities that could take place, or you wish to volunteer a few hours to help with a coffee morning or other activities, please let us know!

No Boddlers on Thu 29th April & Garage sale

Boddlers is canceled on Thursday 29th April due to a  private birthday party held at the premises.

Looking for a king size bed with mattress, a baby cot, a baby cradle, wardrobes, computer desk, clothes, books, all sorts of bits and pieces…?

Crafts on Mondays

This is what we will be doing on the next few Mondays at Boddlers (in addition to the usual play & snack of course):

26th April – Bunches of Daffodils – if anyone has any egg cartoons lying around could they please donate them for this craft session!

3rd May – Wooden spoon bunnies and chicks

10th May – Pet Rocks

17th May – Fingerprint ladybirds

24th May – Crafty door hangers for their bedroom doors

31st May – Paper plate snakes

Sounds like lots of fun! Everybody is welcome to attend.

Hollywood Safari Park

Join Boddlers for a trip to Hollywood Safari Park in Stuckenbrock, 1/2h drive from Paderborn.

Date: Thu 29th Apr 2010

Time: Meet at the Safari Park car park at 9.30am

Entrance with Boddlers: 10e adults, 5e kids 4-14 years, under 4 free (normally 24e/20e/free)

Park opening hours: 9-18

Attractions: drive through the safari area, rides and water play for children. All the attractions & shows are included in the ticket price.

Boddlers will be closed on the Easter Monday April 5th.

Spring excursion to Münster Zoo

You are welcome to join us for a day out in Allwetterzoo in Münster.

Date: Friday 16th April

Time: meet at the zoo car park at 10 am

Location: in Münster, about 1,5h from Paderborn. Driving instructions here, address for navigators is Sentruper Straße 315, 48161 Münster.

Entrance with Boddlers group: 5e/adult, 3e/3-17 year old, children under 3 free (normal fees 14e/7e/free) + 2e for parking

Sign up: email to Kay Pryle kaypryle@hotmail.co.uk before the 15th Apr (include your name, phone number, how many is joining the trip & ages, if you need a ride or can offer a ride)

Opening times: 9am – 6pm

Facilities: baby changing, cafe, kiosk, restaurant, “all-weather-paths” for rainy days, playgrounds etc. Dogs permitted (on a short lead).

Dolphinarium, horse museum Hippomaxx & animal feeding times inclusive.

Post Office Reminder

Just reminding everybody of the Post Office Service at the Bad Lippspringe Community Hall (that is the Boddlers building).

The office is open every Wednesday at 10-12. The rates are UK postal rates and a lot cheaper than German rates, even if you are posting letter to a German address. The Post Office Service offers all the services as the post offices at the camp do – you can send parcels, letters, cards, international mail etc. You can also send post between camps within Germany.

Please, support the service we have now working locally! There hasn’t been almost anybody using the office so next time you need to post something, please bring it to Boddlers on Wednesdays and get it done while your kids are playing. We don’t want the service to stop again, right?

Swimming

Would you like to join other English speaking mothers for a swim with kids in Paderborn pool? There is a nice children’s area and good facilities for families.

We are thinking of going swimming on a regular basis on Tuesday afternoons (about 3pm) in the pool in Paderborn (Schwimmoper, Schützenweg 1b).

Costs are 3,20 Euro per adult and kids under 6 go free.

We will probably start going after Easter leave.
